What I’d Do If I Were Starting Today

If I had to start over as a content creator, this is exactly what I’d focus on:

  • There is so much free information out there.

    You don’t need to:

    • buy a course right away

    • pay someone to teach you everything

    • or get caught up in “content creator programs”

    Start with:

    • TikTok

    • YouTube

    • blogs

    • other creators

Do your research first. You’ll learn way more than you think.

Take “It’s Modern Millie” free course. It will help a lot.

  • If you don’t know what to post, this is one of the easiest ways to get ideas.

    https://answerthepublic.com

You can literally type in a topic and see:

    • what people are searching

    • what questions they have

    • what content already has demand

It takes the guesswork out of content.

  • This is something I wish I did earlier.

    Instead of:

    • filming one video

    • posting it

    • then scrambling for the next idea

Create 3–5 pieces of content first.

    That way:

    • you’re not stressed

    • you stay consistent

    • you have a rhythm

  • Your content should feel cohesive.

That doesn’t mean it has to be perfect, but it should feel like:

    • the same person

    • the same style

    • the same vibe

    This can be:

    • similar lighting

    • similar colors

    • similar editing

    Consistency builds recognition

  • You don’t have to pick one tiny niche.

You can absolutely be a lifestyle creator

    But…

Try to keep your main content aligned.

If something doesn’t really fit, share it on your stories instead

This keeps your page focused while still letting you be yourself.

  • This feels awkward at first, but it works.

People don’t always think to follow.

    Simple things like:

    • “follow for more”

    • “I share things like this all the time”

    make a difference.

  • If you’re serious about working with brands, start setting yourself up early.

www.bento.com is how I pitch brands. And yes, the premium version is well worth it.

It helps you find brands and their contacts, set up a template for you to use, and tracks the metrics of those templates. You can have them write you a pitch as well.

  • Trending audio can help your content get seen.

But don’t just copy what everyone else is doing.

Use it in a way that fits your life.

    For example:

    • a trending sound + your home routine

    • a trending format + your product

    • a trending hook + your real experience

    That’s where it actually works.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You just need:

  • a starting point

  • consistency

  • and a willingness to learn as you go

That’s how you build something that actually grows.
